SCOTTISH
CUP WINNERS 1998/99
On Sunday May 30th at a place called Firhill
Kilwinning Rangers they went up to thrill
To win the cup they had planned from the start
And that means the breaking of Kelty's brave hearts
The Talbot and Arthurlie they fell by
the way
And now the Buffs are going to play
In their first Scottish Final in 77 years
And they did it all for the sake of the Bears
The town of Kilwinning would just like
to say
Thanks for the memories you gave us that day
For winning the cup and bringing it back
To the stadium of light they call Abbey Park
So lift up your glasses, a toast with
me join
To Bobby, the players and the rest of the boys
And don't let's forget them, give them a cheer
Remember it as their Centenary Year
The story's not over, it's only begun
History was made for six trophies they won
In that glorious season - the best ever seen
They lost the tag of the yo-yo team
First was the Scarlett, the Talbot
they beat
Second the Scottish and that was a treat
Third was the West Cup - we've had that before
Then came the League Flag and that made it four
Number five was the Times Cup, there's
just one to go
The sixth was the Ayshire against the Meadow
And after that season they've proved to the rest
Kilwinning rangers are SIMPLY THE BEST
